  • That slight fizz / grapefruit taste that others have mentioned is definitely there, ecen after 3 hours in the decanter. That said, this is an enjoyable wine, if not quite what I was expecting at 10 years old. I may leave the rest of the case a while, but if you have it, I wouldn’t be discouraged from trying it now, there’s a lot going on here, some of it a challenge to your tastebuds

  • Had this over three nights about one week apart in total. First night was a full glass from coravin. Nice dark nose with sweet spice and twig; something warm that gives off wood treatment. Medium to full bodied. Good fruit. Integrated structure. Black chery, ripe soft strawberry, blackberry, but tight. Finish is a little off. Great nose which provides more to workwith than the palate.

After opening and PnP several days later, nose is slighty charred toast, big fruit, some flowers. Generous palate, cranberry notes coming out. Finish not disjointed like it was with the coravin pull. Very good wine, nice complexity as I get a lot of different notes on both nose and palate.

Almost one full glass was left in the bottle on the next night, and after vacuum sealing the night before the wine was a bit oxidized. Score based on first two experiences.

  • Wild raspberry, blackberry, oak, hints of mushroom; fairly full, smooth, strong notes of grapefruit, zingy, a little short; slightly odd but pleasing

  • Good bottle of wine. PnP, then slow ox. Pretty lean long legs. Big inviting nose. Oak, spice, dark fruit, flowers. Alive on the palate with cherry fruit. Lip smacking finish has an herbal quality to it, like oregano. Medium in body. Tannin well integrated. Medium plus finish.

  • Light red colour with a paler edge. Nose with cherries, pronounced spicy notes and undergrowth, hints of animal notes, rather prominent oak, and some flowery notes. Medium+ body with ripe strawberries, some cherries, good concentration of fruit, good acidity, rather pronounced mineral notes, some spice notes, well integrated soft tannins, and a berry-dominated aftertaste with mineral, some tannin, and some oak notes. Young, reasonably approachable now but could definitely benefit from development. 89-90 p?
While well polished, I would have preferred that the oak was less prominent.
