  • Beautiful fruit and tannin, much better than the last one I opened which was all funk. Probably just a difference in storing conditions. Saved the best for last!

  • 87 now; predict 92 in DISTANT future

Attractive dark color with high gloss. Very little bricking just starting at edges. Nose of cool autumn leaves, latish harvest strawberries. Dense mouthfeel — fruit TRYING to make it through, but this wine is still so exceedingly acidic and tannic that fruit hasn’t got a chance. So this wine is promising but NOT EVEN CLOSE to being ready to drink. I won’t try it again for at least 6 years. Reminds me of a just-bottled tannât.

  • Wow! As a tannin junkie I'm impressed! Impossoble to score this now, will try again in 5-10 years.

  • PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-opaque deep dark red stains the glass, minimal bricking
-begrudgingly gives up some rich savory earthy berry aromatics and noticeable EtOH and touch of oak
-med acidity, med+ weight broad and diffuse earthy full faint dark fruits with some early maturity, expansive super chalky tannins completely bathe the palate accompanied by a bitter hot note
-masculine bruiser a bit rough on the edges needs food and probably better in a few years to let the tannins recede though there's a chance there isn't quite enough mid-palate sap to prevent the heat from dominating

  • No formal notes. Dark fruit on the nose, cherries, plums, tar, flowers. Quite tight and grippy on the palate, good acidity, very firm. Nice fruit underneath, but the tannins are a little overpowering. Hold. (90-91+?)
