Good classic, develped left-bank Bordeaux. Can still drink for some more years. Better than expected. This was a double-magnum, and most likely a normal bottle would be too old now.

Cassis, dark cherry and notes of leather on the palate. The texture are silky and velvety. Soft tannins with a light bite and acidity in balance. Shouldn't be stored much longer as it wont get any better.

As always, Cruzeau is a good solid typical Bordeaux. Good balance of acid, minerality, and good concentration of ripe (not sweet) fruit. Drinking well now, would go for a few more years. Doubt it will develop much complexity. Good match with lamb chops.

Grape(s): 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Alcohol: 12.5% Acidity: low Tannin – Light tannin structure. Price: $19.99 Rating: Personal = 77 Points Aromas – Mildly aromatic. cherries, earthy, moldy Color – Medium Depth – Brick - Brown Flavor – Dry, medium bodied. Mild flavor profile. hint of cherry and what else? Finish: Moderate finish Notes: One of the most uninspiring wines I have had to date. Hell I take yellowtail over this stuff. So why did I try it? Well, it's a '96 Bordeaux and on the tail end of its development. Guy offered a sample bottle for $3.00. So I said for that I would try it. Was hoping for a $36 case LMAO! But honestly I wouldn’t even pay $3. Way passed it's prime. Not actively bad, just DULL. Stingy comes to mind. Not wasting anymore time on this wine. Use it for cooking maybe.... have to go find something to cleanse my palate......... PASS!!!!!!
