This is very savoury with an array of earthy, pine needle, and other savoury flavours framing red and dark berried fruit, though not quite showing the aromatic complexity of my last bottle. The palate shows a slightly rustic tannic edge beneath the ripe fruit, and there's also plenty of acidity here. Really nicely balanced, and again a great value, even if it didn't quite hit the heights of the previous bottle I opened.

Opened because I wanted something simple and casual to drink on a weeknight. Whoops, I really underestimated this wine. The fragrance is spectacular - an array of sappy red fruits, pine needles, maturing earthy, mushroom, and some funky leathery flavours, and it's a wine that I could just keep smelling for most of the evening. The palate doesn't quite live up to the aromatics - it doesn't show quite the same complexity there, and comes across a bit hard on the back end where some grainy tannin clamps down on the finish. Still, this is a spectacular bottle of Burgundy that hit way above expectations. At $25 from HDH, this was a steal.

Disappointed. The nose was much less intense and complex that I hoped. It opened up to a certain extent after 2-3 hours, but remained uninspiring. Maybe it was too old. The mouth is quite thin aromatically. Structurewise the wine is ok with medium acidity and some tannins left.

Very light and elegant. Pretty. Medium-intensity nose and quite nice on the palate. Light, but with great fruit, earth, and sappy notes. Yum!

This is all secondary flavours, gently funky, not big, but resolved, fumey, mouthfilling, and with a sense of tension. Super.
