  • Very dark and rather murky. Nose is dark fruit, smoke and raw meat. Yum! medium+ body with well concentrated tertiary flavours and electric acidity! Tannin is under all that padding

  • Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Bin 75): Dark core, cloudy, maroon rim; intense nose, green, black pepper, sweet and sour, brine, smelling it tickles the back of my throat, velvety texture, mineral; a bit more friendly on the palate, very sour, black pepper is less pronounced, lots of tapenade, granite, salty, sour plum, deeper, plush tannin, high acid is a bit harsh; has this gone through malolactic?, very intense wine reminiscent of the 2007 Equis, tons of character but not very pleasant.

  • Despite my misgivings about this producer, the wine proved to be quite fresh and mineral with distinct olive notes and a red fruited profile. Plenty of acidity here, but with air the wine fleshed out without losing its freshness. Distinctly N Rhone Syrah.

  • This is a good, but not great example of St. Joseph. Very floral and mineral on the nose with some red fruits. The palate has red fruits with notes of violets and decent intensity. Overall pretty tasty, very young. I'd wait and let this develop more.
