  • Lush and intense – pushing the upper boundary of med-sweet with JUST enough acidity to hold it in check. Hard not to enjoy the heck out of this bottle, especially for the price! Brief flashes of lemon/lime on the nose were quickly replaced with rich melon, ripe kiwi, and marmalade, while notable ginger spice and steel provided the backbone. Mandarin, apricot, and lychee all made appearances, as did touches of dates and baking spice. The wine did show touches of petrol at times, and on day two provided herbal/pine notes as well. The finish was a sumptuous mix of coconut cream and lemon meringue. As noted, the acidity was typically high but only just contained the explosion of rich flavours – such a fine line of excellent balance. I’m constantly amazed at how even standard level Rieslings hold up and develop over time, not to mention the incredible value they provide – count me in every time!

  • Riesling Dinner at EMP (Eleven Madison Park, New York, NY): This drank older than it was, which isn't a plus for me. It was more than drinkable, but I like mine to be a bit fresher.

  • Very pale straw yellow in glass. Awkward nose of cellophane, red apple core and a hint of ginger. Very simple and flabby on the palate with soft red apple, a hint of ginger spice, fading to a somewhat short apple peel finish. This does not at all resemble the wine we tasted 2 years ago. I presume it is well past it's prime. For the price, it's a pass, but still a very pleasant and soft riesling (C+).

  • Clean pear fruit, with minerals and a fat midpalate. Finishes a bit sweet with fine acidity.

  • What an elegant drinking experience. Great balance between nice fruit sweetness with acidity and crispness on the finish. For me the best Riesling I've had outside of Eroica (and it may be better). Decent value for under $20.
