I haven't had great experiences with 1991 Leroy's but this was a little better than I expected. Red fruit, plums and spice, round and well balanced. Nice grip on the finish.

Started with a chewy nose that was ungraceful and ungracious. With some time it started to open up and some sweetness emerged on the palate. It has lovely density and balance, clearly youthful despite it being almost 30 years old. Lovely blueberry fresh zing to the finish. Two bottles served, there was remarkable bottle variation especially in the nose.

I really liked this a lot; the easy appeal was apparent with loads of figgy dark fruit, black cherry, and game. But with some nosing, the mineral and wood smoke aspects of this really came out beautifully. The palate didn't show quite as strong, but who cares after such a fabulous nose. Delicious and eminently drinkable. Great 91. Thanks Brad.

Classic burgundy. The nose is better than the palate. The nose is complex with prunes, black fruit, earth and spice. The finish is a bit dry but the level of complexity is tremendous. The leroy house style is less prominent in this wine but its a much more classic aged burgundy with a more subtle touch.

Blossomed over the few hours in the glass. Warm baking spices, cinnamon, star anise, and warm fruit notes.
