95 pts

Wine Dinner # 163 - 2007 Domaine Leroy (Urbane Restaurant, Brisbane): Tasted at the 2007 Leroy dinner. This wine had a clear cherry red colour and a lovely nose of red cherry, raspberry, game and earth that evolved in the glass. The palate carried those lovely fruit and game flavours through but seemed to be a little foursquare in structure with just a touch of green on the finish in comparison to its colleagues tonight. A real sense of Gevrey though and sat well with the food served tonight.

Enticing Leroy signature nose. Sandalwood / spice combo. Very elegant and ethereal body, but not big. In line with vintage.

Much more mineral, earth and meaty notes that I recalled. Signature spice and Leroy style but very Gevrey.

During a La Paulee dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Great wine, gamy notes, good energy and volume especially for a 2007.
