More new world than old. Lots of dark berries and a hint of meatiness on nose and some spices. Palate follows but some tartness suggesting slight acidity imbalance. Wide mouthfeel and soft tannins.

Ripe, earthy and juicy. Quite potent concentration with tannin to shed. Very pleasurable even now with muscular Gevrey typicity. Overall though somewhat new world in profile right now. An over-delivering village sample. That said, way over-priced at $50. Would not pay more than $29 for an equivalent NZ pinot. Should age well. Excellent overall but a pass based on price point.

Classic Gevrey nose of medicinal cherries, beef and iron. Rather rich and opulent for a village wine sporting nice flavors that echo the nose. Finishes smooth but short with a nice spiciness.

Aromatic, cherry, smoke, beetroot, earth and charred sugar on the nose. Medium-bodied with assertive flavours, firm acidity and balanced, bitter tannins. Long, charred, toasty finish.
4.5/5
