  • Brief vacation notes; 10/17/2021-10/22/2021 (Hotel Sonne, Partschins, IT): Popped and poured. Medium golden color. Wonderful complex nose. On the palate the high, racy acidity is a bit unbalanced, which is the only downside to this wine. Otherwise beautiful fruit, very good mineral core, great tension and precision. Long and lingering finish. Will stay on this level for some more years, but I doubt that it will improve. I rather fear, that the imbalance will grow, so drink up now. 91-92

  • Dark gold in the glass, zippy acidity characteristic of the vintage, and a complex nose laden with TDN. This is excellent and seems to be pretty far along the maturity curve, although I don’t have a lot of experience with GG of any age. Wish I had purchased more...an excellent and useful food wine!

  • Terrific. Very energetic, high acid, quivering wine. Still very much on the young side, but heading great places. Really love the vibrancy here. Depth will come with 3-5 years.

  • 12% ABV. The wine was intense yellow-golden in colour, with a touch of residual CO2. It offered apricot, grapefruit, butter, a touch of spice, a hint of honey and very first signs of bottle age on the nose. On the palate the wine showed apricot, grapefruit, Granny Smith apple, lemon effervescent powder and mineral notes, with a touch of residual CO2, high, lively acidity, a slightly creamy mouthfeel and very good length of the slightly bitter finish. The medium- to full-bodied Riesling had good concentration and drank reasonably well even if the high acidity was a little too prominent. I would recommend holding for at least another three years and start drinking from 2020. 89+
