Ripe fruit, plums, sous bois, dried herbs. Lots of stuffing still, quite firm tannins, but looks like it's on a slow decline towards drying out. Great value though, the oldest barbera I've drunk.

2006 Flavio Roddolo Barbera d'Alba Deep dark red, clean and crisp. Dark spices, forest ground aromas, dark cooking/baking-chocolate, wet autumn leaves on nose. On the palet, hints of dark chocolate and tar. Licorice. Acidic and fruity entrance, balanced. Red currants. Soft and integrated tannins. Crowberries-like finish. 89p.

Dense and dark aged color. Red with hints of bricking at the edges. Nose gives me bitter chocolate, pure and clear fruit, including crowberries. On the palate this wine is clearly a step over the last wine we tasted; the Chionetti Briccolero Dogliani 2011. More power, fullness of fruit, more exiting, beautifully balanced with soft tannins. This is good!

Fortsatt ganske tøff og strukturert, selv om den har myknet litt. Liten utvikling å spore. Prøver igjen om 2-3 år.

Big, swet and sour, and a bit clumsy. Plenty of tannins makes it different from many other Barberas. An interresting Barbera made for the long haul.
