  A little shy out of the bottle but gains in complexity, richness and length as the night goes on. Very soft tanins. Pepper and mint come to mind. Quite enticing.

  Bu en accompagnement (raté) d'une tourte au poulet. Un nez de poivre rose et de cassis, en bouche ce même cassis domine et glisse sur des tannins soyeux pour amener sur une finale assez chaude (14.5). J'ai bien aimé ! Pour les $38, pas le meilleur RQP du monde. Peut vieillir sans doute mais bon maintenant.

  Piacevole Syrah, molto speziato (pepe nero, cannella, liquirizia, note di eucalipto) ed alcolico (14,5°), ma con un bel frutto pieno che argina eventuali eccessi di legno. Da questo 2008 si fregia anche del nome del cru di provenienza "Maroccoli", ma a parte la formalità è in linea con le altre annate.
  Gradevole con un "pollo e peperoni" al curry e curcuma.
  Conferma la mia sensazione che i vini di Planeta (ed in generale i vini siciliani "moderni", esclusi gli etnei) sia meglio berli giovani che aspettarli troppo. Non hanno le qualità per lunghi affinamenti, ma nell'immediato sono gustosi ed accattivanti.
  Comunque per la mia esperienza meglio lo Syrah del Merlot, mi pare semplicemente un vitigno più idoneo al clima siculo. L'ultimo Syrah che ho bevuto è stato il Penfolds Bin 2, e questo Planeta a prezzo ben più modico (per un italiano) è incomparabilmente migliore.
