Glass: Zalto Bordeaux Popped and poured. Clear, deep inky still ruby color with lots of fine sediment. Intoxicating, complex, deep and bold nose! Multi-layered, lots of fine red fruit and cooked red fruit, oak, spices and herbs. Yes, 15,5% abv makes this wine heavy. Not in the sense that it is hot or broad, but it makes me full and I can't drink more than 2 glasses. But it is also a beauty: Lovely silky texture, complex and multi-layered aromas of fine fruit, herbs, slate, spices and toasting. Deep and dense, very intense and very long. Great wine with a potential of at least another decade. 94+

BIG WINE. Dbay has done a great job describing it below. I loved the deep rich nose. Key was how it stayed in balance despite big ABV of 15.5. The minerality and nicely done acidity keeps the huge fruit and well integrated tannin in place. Not sure it is going to get much better but won't fade much in next 5 years

Deep ruby. Aromas of medium plus intensity with violets, black cherries, black currants, vanilla, toast. On the palate the wine is dry with medium acidity, medium plus fine grained tannins, high alcohol, full bodied, wtih a lingering finish of black fruit. The palate demonstrates flavors of rich black fruit (cherries, currants, blackberries) fresh and dried, vanilla, coffee and black tea. The wine is an outstanding priorat- with a balance of tannins, alcohol and acidity, long finish. The wine can still age another 3-5 years.
