With this bottle I finally have the impression that this wine is where I wanted it to be. The tannins have nicely integrated, lots of coconut on the nose, fruit is predominant, and to be honest it gives the impression that one is drinking a 5 year old wine. It just evolves much more slowly than I expected. I was right in buying this wine, but wrong in drinking 10 of my 12 bottles too early...

Second of two bottles, this wine was dark in color, funky on the nose. Dark fruit, gritty tannins, oak and hmmm, a touch of Brett on the palate. Fairly long finish. Saved a few ounces for day two, and the wine has smoothed out and the funk has dissipated a bit. OK, but I will not seek out more.

Dark ruby. Still young and relatively monolithic aromatically, all oak and alcohol and fruit with just traces of graphite. Big sweet mouthful with gentler tannins than young Prima can have. Worth the time if you have the cellar space.

(PRIMA TORO) #1; COLOR-extremely dark; NOSE-Oak, dairy, nice dark cherry, good licorice, some heat; TASTE-a Big wine, New World, explosive fruit, like the Clio, but not as complex, delicious (black currant, blackberry, licorice), but that's it; a little one-dimensional, but I like; WA(JM)-90; GV-89

Mature now, but still powerful and silky. Very enjoyable.
