Robust, inky wine from a storied region. Big all around, with grippy tannins, dark fruit, and enough acidity to tie it all together. High-ish ABV (but not elevated by the standards of the region) and quite a bit of oak in evidence, but overall it works with, say, Almeria-style beef with tomatoes, onions, and cinnamon, nutmeg, and pine nuts.

This is really good, and that's coming from someone who usually doesn't like Toro.
Aromas of very ripe black and blue fruits, dried flowers, tobacco, oak spice, vanilla, a little chargrilled meat and dusty gravel road. Dense and full on the palate, broad and deep, plush texture, the tannins are fine, acids are buried but keep everything fresh. The sweet oak pokes through on the finish, but this is very well balanced and stays lively despite its weight and darkness, tannins are grippy but fine, and the fruit keeps up with their clout. This will evolve positively for at least 5 years.

Yum! Dry with a strawberry taste in the mouth. Great QPR. Thanks garagiste!
