Balanced and restrained. Good length with fine, integrated tannins and an acid backbone that sits neatly in the background. I wouldn't describe it as young, but then again I wouldn't describe it as mature. Just good.

Drank this after a Kiwi Pinot (Felton Road Calvert) and to be honest there was not a great difference in the wines. Both were excellent. This wine is quite refined with balanced acidity and tannin. Medium to light bodied. Enjoyable.

NobleRottersSydney - Oz cabernet blind (Verde, East Sydney): {screwcap, 13.5%} (DavidC) Absurdly young. Looks black and inky, smells iodine-like, with cassis essence and black olives. Given the theme, it could only be Margaret River, as it proved. It has a charcoal and currant quality to the flavours; it’s medium-full bodied with medium-high, somewhat gritty tannins. Has a medium-length warm finish, but doesn’t seem alcohol-driven. Tidy French oak isn’t obvious either. Plenty of mid-palate presence; the only thing this really needs is time, and plenty of it. And you’ve got to like olives…

Nice enjoyable cab, distinctive cab nose, leafy, herbal, hints of olive, meaty, charcuterie, savoury, tannins resolving nicely for a satisfying finish
