Really showed well, and I was a little concerned about some storage issues. In a happy middle aged place right now, with wonderful fruit showing, but no baby fat. This was a magnum.

The last time I had this wine was four years ago. I gave it 88-89 points and wrote that it would be better in a few years. Little did I know just how much better it would be. Notes of cassis, black cherries, espresso bean, campfire, and graphite. Still nicely structured after all these years. Balanced on the palate with a fine beam of acidity. Drinking extremely well now (just be sure to decant for sediment) but it still has years of life ahead of it.

Substantially better than a bottle from 3+ years ago. Mellow nose of currant and tabacco, with hints of coffee, white chocolate, smoke and something green (grass?). Palate features a sweet core of cassis and blackberry, with just a hint of grip/tannin and nice acidity. Fairly long finish. Very good, and a testiment to what some bottle age can do to mellow these mountain wines.

Red fruit and some bramble and earth on the nose. Surprisingly youthful red fruit on the palate. Really nice wine.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Our house): Double blind. Notes of dark fruit, herbs and vanilla. Good fruit on the palate with softened tannins and a medium+ finish.
