375ml. PnP. Blood red in the glass. Big nose and palate brimming with dark black and blue berries, cassis, cherry liquor, semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla, and baking spice including cinnamon and ginger in particular. Creamy, velvety midpalate with sweet and plush tannins given good focus by the acidity which neither pokes out nor is too shy causing flabbiness. This wine is in perfect harmony and a great window right now. The finish is peppery and lively and shows off the red fruits nicely. Although the wine is a heavy-weight at 15.4% abv it is made so well I couldn't tell. The alcohol was unapparent on the nose or palate and the wine had a weightlessness to it that made it very moreish.

Decanted a couple of hours but still tasted a little tight with some tannins. If I had another I would probably try to hold for another few years. Good wine, but for the price a little disappointed.

Nose of currant, cherry and other red fruits. Hints of camphor. Lots of kirsch. Nice mineral edge to it. Floral and feminine style with great balance and a lighter structure. Pretty red berry fruit and lavender. Finish is a touch tart, but should round out with a bit more age in bottle.

Holding up nicely, good balance and no need to keep any longer.
