Excellent bottle despite a partially raised cork and even a tiny bit of seepage. Very elegant, multi-layered aromas, superb texture (the Fisch-Rayer 10 year review is spot on). Again for me the 2011 vintage is turning out some unexpected pleasures. I should have more of this very fine producer in the cellar!

This definitely didn’t have the explosiveness or complexity of some other vintages when young but age is treating this kindly. This is a riesling in the vein of Clos Ste Hune - you have to lean in a little to get the nuances but this is an excellent wine that is just starting to come out of its shell. I underrated this wine early on and I think the lack of residual sugar made it a bit harsh and monolithic upon release but it seems like it should really drink well over the next 5 years. I must say I really like the approach here of letting the vineyards and vintages speak for themselves rather than trying to pursue a house style or a pradikat level.

Has developed well in the cellar. Citrus, lime and tropical fruit, pineapple and peaches, some petrol, less acid and better balance than three years ago. Still light, fresh and crisp. Drinks beautiful now. Sad to say it was my last bottle.

Appears to be shut down along with the rest of the 2011 IB bottles.
