  • From a magnum. Amazingly different from the 750s and amazing for a vintage 2000. This wine was spectacular with red and dark berry, cassis and what I would normally describe as rutherford dust. Excellent structure with slightly drying tannins and a medium to long finish. High levels of concentration and medium to full body with a rich mouthfeel. Well above my expectations and drinking perfectly (from magnum) right now.

  • Decanted last night in anticipation of the grilled ribeyes I was bbqing. Surprised at the lack of aroma as I poured. Tons of sediment in the strainer and on sides of the bottle. 2 hours later as we ate - it really opened beautifully. Lovely aromas of dark berries and fruit. Nice balance of tannins and acidity. Smooth medium long finish. Really lovely. Drink now.

  • Rather simplistic, but decent cabernet. Blueberry and dark fruit taste. Very soft tannins and lacking structure for long term development. Drink up.

  • Opened at an Italian restaurant in N. Lake Tahoe. Was very balanced and improved over dinner. Black cherry, hints of vanilla, definitely could taste some of the Cab Franc blend. Light tannins, very mellow after taste and finish. All in all a very good experience. This was the first release from the new Ehlers Estate, post death of the LeDuqc family. We had enjoyed LeDuqc since 1996 vintage and found this version to be a lighter Bordeaux style, but none-the-less worthy.
