Prior bottle was nearly 18 months ago and this bottle was a small step back from that impressive showing. A bit of funkiness on the nose which blew off, revealing soft, white orchard fruit, a lemon quality and a touch of nuttiness/oak. Medium bodied with apple and pear upfront, citrus notes behind (especially lemon) and mineral as well as vanilla notes on the finish. This didn't show quite as much complexity as the prior bottle, but the contrast between the upfront orchard fruit and background tart notes is brought together cleanly. Given how well my prior bottle showed, as well as the 2009 from yesterday, I'm not sure this bottle is fully representative but drink in the next year seems reasonable either way.

Apple, pear, lemon and citrus on the nose. Medium bodied (13.91% ABV) with a spectacular balance between fruit and acidity. Citrus notes along with lemon upfront, broadening through the middle with pear and apple and adding some tropical hints at the very back. The complexity through the mid-body is impressive. The finish is nicely integrated with the body of the wine showing lingering mineral qualities and just a hint of richness. This showed both more citrus based notes and more structure (even though it was well integrated) than the 2008 from yesterday. Granted they are different stages in their evolution, but given the slightly different fruit profile here, the additional complexity, depth and contrast, I wish I had a few more bottles to see how this evolved. Easily has a year or two before peak and should have a long life beyond.

Much tarter and minerally than expected--almost a cross between a Chablis and a Muscadet, but with a slight oak background (which you wouldn't find in either). Medium body, citrus. I got a little pineapple after it was open for awhile.
