Mature and drinking nicely. Needed some aeration. Smooth and linear with nice layers of fruit. Nice level of acidity and freshness. Balanced but note that low tannin remains evident. Not especially long. This has made me keen to begin an experiment in drinking older Barbera and buying different producers to taste and also to lay down.

A rather rich Barbera, with redcurrant, red cherries and background sweet strawberry and smoke-y notes. The palate has typical light tannins and zesty acidity, with a nice finish of trailing fruit notes.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #026 Italy; Nebbiolo vs Barbera (By PS): Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries, autumn impressions and sweet spices. On the palate red berries, juicy red fruit acidity, sweet spices, vanilla, elegance and a good length.
