Some Gevrey-Chambertin blood sausage/pencil lead earthiness; along with Red Cherryish fruit. Oak is in a nice balance; overall. Some ripeness and flesh on the nose and palate. Did improve with air. Bit short and lighter concentration (2011) but a nice; more elegant style that was priced right. Drink or hold. Some upside.

Aroma: cherries, strawberries, burgundy funk, menthol, dried peas, roasted nuts and savory notes. Palate: initial sip was flat then there were flavors of unripe strawberries, spicy notes, medium tannins, soft acidity with a long finish. I’ve had better experience from this producer and sadly, 2011 wasn’t as great (compared to 2005 and 2010 Ruchottes-Chambertin). Paired with a radicchio Caesar salad, mushroom pizza and a Italian sausage and potato pizza and it was yummy! This is definitely more enjoyable with food than without. 90

Black cherry, roasted meat, dried herbs, very good concentration. Slightly drying finish.

Good but not punching to its Grand Cru pedigree. After all, it’s all about the producer 🤷♂️
