Drinking wonderfully, deep color, sweet nose of grilled meats and leather, smooth taste of mature peppery fruit, blackberries and oak, great length. Stupidly good value at $20 one sale at KL.
Excellent now, but good for another 5 years.

Deep red center, red rim with some signs of age. Sweet, peppery, pipe tobacco, sweet red cherries. Smooth, briar, pepper and dusty underbrush, modest tannin but some acidity, very nice finish with some green notes. Still doing very well. Good now, few more years left.

Five years ago this was just a big beast of a wine. Tonight it’s still a statement wine, but the statement has nuance. Clear aromas of roasted meat, black fruit and road tar (i.e. textbook Syrah) lead to a more herbal palate expression, that still maintains the meat and fruit elements. It’s still young. I will make an effort to “misplace” my last bottle, figuring time is only an ally.
Deep dark red center, red rim with only modest signs of age. Rubber, black olive, pepper, a little sappy, meaty, fresh tar, a touch animal. Smooth, smokey bacon, blackberries and sweet red peppers, some iodine, black pepper, pine needles, a little tannin left, well integrated oak, a touch of greenness, great length. Great Syrah, quite Cote Rotie, drinking very well now at 10 years old, will last a few more years.

Excellent cool climate Syrah. Peppery, meaty, dark red fruit, nice acidity and structure. Plenty of tannin for a 10 year old wine. Excellent stuff.
