  • Decanted it and was almost immediately ready. Absolutely exceptional. Very rarely a wine which scent is more intense, red fruits like rasperry. Incredible fresh taste although 15 years old. Keeps up in palate, long finish. No sign of aging, big pleasure.

  • Purple with crimson rim. Layered aromas built around stewed blue fruits, leather, dried meats and sweet woody spices. Lovely complexity. Fleshy and ripe on the palate with excellent supporting acidity and dissolved silky tannin. It's plush and effortless and hides its 14.5% ABV well. Right in its drinking window. Should hold for at least another 5+ years.

  • Very dark. Nose is ripe cherry and oak..pretty. Meaty, dense, still in the youthful part of its life.

  • Enjoyed this wine on a cozy BBQ evening in our garden. It is time to open the 2008 - good wine but not much further development. Maturity seems to be reached.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, cranberry, black currant (cassis), prune, pear, toast and vanilla. It tastes like blackberry, cranberry, black currant (cassis), orange, prune and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

  • I caved... Couldn’t hold out for 2020 to open my next bottle. It’s oh so good right now and paired very well with grilled New York strip, grilled asian chicken thighs, grilled bratwurst, roasted broccoli, and roasted butter nut squash. So sad I only have one bottle left in my cellar. The wine had some sediment which is easily filtered, if desired, and filtering made my mother-in-law very happy. The sediment doesn’t bother me.

12/15/2019: three days later, the final glass was still delicious and perhaps even better than day 1.
