Wow. This was really special. From a very well stored bottle with an almost flawless cork. Excellent nose of crisp autumn leaves, leather and a hint of sweet dark fruits. In the mouth this is wonderfully balanced with literally loads of acidity, and a perfect balance of fruit and secondary characteristics. Sweet Tobacco, leather, and an almost bright citrus note thanks to the acidity with a long, smokey finish that lasts for 30+ seconds. An incredible wine that kept morphing over the hours that we drank it. Hard to believe this is 52 years old. A true pleasure to drink and one of the more memorable bottles that I've had in a very, very long time.

Winorama: A winter in Wineland II; 1/6/2018-1/14/2018 (Portland, Eureka, Napa): Somm described this as a cross between Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Barolo and I must say that was almost a perfect description. It has the almost oily nature of an aged Barolo, some of the power of a good Bordeaux and then that elegance of Burgundy. For me it was sitting in a well oiled leather chair with an old book and a cigar. Really fun to get to try and very enjoyable (I don't often rate wines, but if I rated this one prob more like 91-92 and then bonus points for being a wine created before my parents were legal).

(Inglenook Vineyards Charbono) Bricked black tinged dark cherry red color; very appealing, tart cherry, marinated cherries, cherry and strawberry jam, dried red berry nose; juicy, youthful, tart strawberry preserves, dried cherry, grilled red pepper palate with medium acidity; long finish (amazingly youthful for a 44 year old wine)
