Aromas of tarry sweet fruit and a touch of spice. Powerful but still quite light on its feet, very dry with a slight green-ness to the chalky tannins. Nice sweet fruit in the entry but at the moment this is really dominated by the tannins.

Fratelli Alessandria has parcels in the best vineyards in Barolo and also makes it in the Old World way. There are hints of violets and leather on the nose. The nebbiolo fruit is evident and very traditional. The alcohol is high but the warm vintage (what isn't anymore?) would explain it. Tremendous value for those who don't want to shell out the extra dollars for single vineyards.

This is a lovely, well-made lower level Barolo that is totally tasty right now and will evole well over the next few years.
