Weekly tasting group #012; Southern Rhône (@ VD): Mature and elegant bouquet; rustic, garrigue, leather and still some red fruits. On the palate some coffee/mocha and completely dissolved tannin and soft bitterness. Still beautiful acidity. Beautiful and elegant wine. Drink now or soon.

Still fairly deep though some brown shades are invading the ruby. A nose of damp earth covering the dark fruits, these last fading slightly. The time in bottle toned down the ripeness of the fruit though still remaining dark. The fruit comes in a medium to full bodied wine with some tannins still available. Long on the finale if a tad rustic and dry. Still capable of a winter or two of progression, but i reckon that i like my C9dP with some fruit so no point in holding it too long!

Deep crimson with orange highlights. The nose is full with a blast of asian spice, chocolate and ripe strawberry. The palate is weighty and rich. This is drinking very well at the moment.
