Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 95 points

  • A WOW experience! Just in the glass the wine was a bit musty and rusty, but right after that impressions of spiciness, mint, leather, some barnyard, tea and pleasant medicine. On the palate still full bodied, concentrated cherries even, bacon, pleasant sweetness, chocolate, good acidity, soft tannin with still some bite and pleasant bitterness. A great and silky wine with an enormous length. The first 30 minutes this was mature, complex and really great! After 30 minutes very tertiary flavors took over and there was a lot of celery and the wine was not really pleasant anymore. I hope you read my note and not only look at the score. The score for the first half hour was 95. After that it came to a point I generally don’t score wines, because they are too old. Nevertheless I will put the score of the first 30 minutes in CT; 95!
