I bought a bunch from the PLCB @$4.99 per several yrs back. Rumor was that they were heat damaged. The first several I tried seemed to confirm that - prematurely brown; insipid stripped flavors - poured several down the sink. Don't know why I wasted storage space on a fewd, but I did and now I'm glad. This was very nice, particularly for a $5 bottle. Guess the others were in a dumb stage, or perhaps the abusive handling was random. Drink 'em if you have 'em, at least from the PLCB.

8 Rhone Reds Tasted (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nose of medicinal and jammy fruit, medium/big body, young tasting, finishes tart due to some tannins. My #5 of 8.
