Took 45 min to open. Red and dark fruit with a clear beefy note. Not nearly as expressive or fun as the 2013–which I have been drinking almost daily so far this month. Not sure if this is a phase or if this is the wine but I want more at this level from LB. Still very good.

Comte Liger-Belair NSG Clos des Grandes Vignes 2012. Fantastisk parfymert nese - her er Louis-Michel rå. Ispedd de vakreste krydderdufter. Klokkeren med fin modning. Saftig frukt med herlig løft. Dette drikker veldig bra nå. Sexy stuff. Lang med meget flotte tanniner. Juicy finish. 94p

Elsker denne. 94p

In my opinion, Comte Liger Belair makes much better Vosne Romanee than Nuits Saint Georges, the same goes to Georges Noellat. Tasted blind and despite its refined style it was overshadowed by the 2011 Mongeard Mugneret Echezeaux. Nice bouquet of glossy red fruits, low pitched wood spices and sweet rose petal. However even the finest producers still couldn’t avoid firm structure of Nuits Saint Georges. Nuits Saint George’s 1er cru? 2009? (89/100)

Initially a bit oaky, but the wine unfurls with air. Lovely red berries, with hint of sweet sandlewood. Hint of spice, that's almost Vosne like.
