Had with bbq lamb and didn’t decant which it might benefit from a bit more air but over all a great wine that will last another 5 plus years a solid dark berry and earthy tones on the nose with full mid palate of dark fruits but very soft tannins and finished with long berry notes impressed our UK guest Shiraz worked well with the honey soy marinade

New World Blind Tasting Group $25+ (Bin 75): Black core with bright reddish purple rim; violets, berry compote, black pepper, some vanilla; lighter, fresher, more classic Syrah/Shiraz, juicy, floral finish; very good.

dark red. strong oak and spice. settled for a while, it expressed mocha, tobacco, vanilla and herbal. warm, generally velvety tannins (though somewhat powdery). long pepper spicy finish. typical Oz Shiraz, still young.
(Tasting at Magill Estate) Very light ruby red for a shiraz. Tall elegance, dark leather, pure nose, peppered with funky barnyard. Grippy tannins - way too young to be drinking, along with characteristic savoury peppers, minty and ferrous finish. Not a strong year.
