  Magnificent. Very complex with wonderful plum flavors. Oh, why didn't I buy a case?

A tad bit of anise. Some bitter, baking chocolate flavor lingers a little near the end. The tannins are big on this wine. In fact, they’re almost bruising. For such a bad year for Va. wine, this wine has big tannins and without any greenness. The finish is somewhat short and ends on a pine resin-like note. None of the flavors are long or particularly focused. I simply could not get over the color and tannins of this wine. Not a great wine, but an interesting wine. Without a doubt, the best Va. Norton I’ve had. 13.1% alc. With cheeses and crusty bread while watching Father’s Little Dividend.
