During a Burg dinner. Subtle nose, minerals, some white fruit. A little timid on the palate for such a grand terroir. Did not thrill people at the table.

Massive blast of wood, which is not an expected characteristic of this terroir, out of balance. Lacking in the usual standout characteristics of a great Chablis (vibrant acidity, minerality, salinity). Drinkable but disappointing considering the vineyard.

Fortunately I paid well below the market price for this wine as part of a job lot of Chablis in a charity auction. Perfectly pleasant ripe chardonnay but lacking any distinctive chablis character or significant depth of flavour one should expect from grand cru quality. A disappointment. Drink up.

Assessed as a village-level chablis, it just doesn't have enough flinty-chalky goodness or acidity. As a grand-cru chablis, it lacks the above plus is a bit scrawny on the bones. Some barrique doesn't hide the deficiencies of this wine.

Sitronfarget. Medium intensitet. Fet stil med modne epler, honning, mineraler og fat på nese. Medium syre, medium kropp og medium+ konsentrasjon. Epler, mineraler og litt krydder på smak. Medium+ lengde.
