Bright ruby red. Two hour decant yielded lots of ripe, dark fruit on the nose and front palate. Mid and back seemed a bit hot, and thus seemed to lack in the way of the classical acid one expects from a Sangiovese. But as the wine gained another hour or so, more complexities came to light, such as truffle, graphite and various earthy minerals. If drinking now, decant for half a day, or hold on for another year or two.

Very nice with a pork ragu. Was somewhat surprised, but a nice garnet color, red fruit and licorice and decent acidity. Glad I have another bottle...

Walla Walla Visit, End of Summer 2009; 8/29/2009-8/30/2009 (Walla Walla, Washington): An interesting scent like aged strawberries on the nose along with a floral note. The strawberries deliver on the palate, and are surprisingly dark. There is also some nice acidity, and a bit of spice.
