Dark ruby, blackberry, cherry nose. Dry, tart cherry, round fruity mouth feel, nice balance of fruit, acid and tannins. Bright red cherry fruit, tart berry finish, green stem tannins. Night two, super wine, the green stem tannins have moderated, well balanced like a good Chianti, would like to be eating a good pizza with it. A lot of life in this wine, drink with a decant or hold longer.

Very dry tannins; that's all I remember from the wine. It wasn't bad by any stretch, but it certainly didn't leave a lasting impression. Am hoping day 2 gives us more to go on...

(Helix Sangiovese Columbia Valley) Dark in color. Sweet red fruit notes and spice along with a dose of licorice on the nose. Has a lot of grip on the palate along with a blast of acidity. A bit of a sour note on the finish. A big, tannic wine. 100% Sangiovese. Stillwater Creek Vineyard. Aged in French oak (13% new). 480 cases produced.
