  Belle couleur rubis profond, ocelle brique, brillant, lourd, larmes très grosses, lentes et fréquentes.
  Joli nez mentholé, de bois de cèdre avec de beaux fruits rouges (groseilles rouges) et une pointe de cassis. Très frais. Léger boisé et pointe de torréfaction. Fond de fumée et de tabac.
  Attaque légèrement acide et capiteuse laissant place à un joli fruit rouge (groseilles rouges), au bois de cèdre et à des saveurs empyreumatiques. Petite notion de sucré.
  Très jolis tanins fondus laissant apparaitre une légère acidité. Finale un peu courte.
  Un vin qui présente une belle structure dans un millésime plutôt difficile. Très joli fruit. Léger manque de rondeur et petit déséquilibre général.

  Still a young brute, hard-edged and tannic. A very masculine wine, with dominant smoke and tobacco notes. Could probably have used another 5 years in cellar.

  Decanted for 30 minutes. The nose was classic bordeaux, exhibiting aromas of smoky earth, cedar, sweet cherry and tobacco. Supple tannins showing black cherry, pepper and spice. Unfortunatley, this wine has a pretty short finish. The wine paired perfectly with beef, spinach and portobello mushroom dinner. Sweet tannins were still firm, with bright acidity, so the wine should easily stand up for another few years. I know Parker gave this wine a 74-76 back in 1995, saying it lacked any fruit or richness, which may be partially true, but I think he would find it much improved with age. For all that it lacks, the other components certainly make up for it, to create a decent wine.
