Jadot really hit it out of the park in this era. This is as classic as it gets with aged red Burgundy. Sous-bois, red fruit, just a hint of earthiness, and nascent autumnal notes on the nose, all of which continue on the palate. Ripe, but balanced with delicate acidity balancing out the opulent fruit. Again, nascent autumnal notes on the palate. Still quite tannic and showing Corton intensity. Very compelling stuff.

Fantastic bottle of what is still such a young wine. Needed a couple hours of air to truly hit a stride and start showing the layers of earth, leather, meat, mushroom and spice complexity. Fruit is still quite rich and fresh. In the middle of a peak window.

Again, Jadot avoids the overripeness that the vintage often shows. There’s a light roasted quality, but it’s not dominant, and there’s a nice complex melange of coffee, earth, and cumin aromas. B+

(Louis Jadot Corton-Pougets Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot) Nice, tart cherry nose; concentrated, very tasty, cherry, sous bois palate with firm tannins still; medium-plus finish

Heavy and coarse; deep rich cherry-blackberry; rugged and layered; crusty tannic finish.
