A bit more fruit this time around. Still very classic (savoury, dry, herbs) but there is a layer of fruit I didn't see previously. I love the dry tannic structure and it's a style I have a lot of bias towards.

Pop and pour. No time to breathe. The colour is brown from age. On the nose, the smell of a mature wine. Still drinkable. On the palate, better than the underwhelming nose. The tannins are still detectable, though not prominent, for a Chianti. Earthy flavour. It actually pairs well with a late night pizza snack! A respectable food wine, making the meal a more pleasant experience. Nothing to write home about. But an affordable wine. $10 for a half bottle. Drink now. Overall value: 3 stars of 5. Good (82.5).

Rustic, pongy, unyielding structure, healthy tannin. Warmed up a little but it's hard not to like the stringy old fashion style. Fruit not really playing a role but the structure is.

Drank a half bottle of this last year and it was drinkable. Tried to drink one again this year, no longer drinkable (past drinking window).

Les relents de champignons émanant de ce petit Chianti saura certainement bien égayer ma lasagne aux chanterelles! Miam!?
