a "whoops, look what I found hidden in the cellar". A little thin as noted before. Nice nose but faded fairly quickly. I think it is close if not already past good drinkability

I think we are approaching the last drink date for this wonderful PN. It was slow opening and was actually better the second night after gassing and stoppering. Slow to come together. Good when it did. Drink up.

This matched really well on Christmas Eve with Norwegian meatballs - a wine of light to medium intensity (typical of 2011) but definitely stood up to the meatballs, which are mostly pork and veal, and the cream sauce that they are served in. Medium finish, nice nose of red and black berries with some pomegranate notes, too. For a vintage that wasn't particularly well-received, this wine is a true standout. It is drinking superbly in 2017, I expect it will be just as good 4 years from now. The finish was surprisingly long and this was a really well-balanced wine.

Nothing notable about this wine other than the fact that it feels not ripe, and is very hot on the alcohol taste from the start to finish. I am not convinced that it will get any better than its mediocrity right now with time. Would not buy again, even at a price point one-third its current cost. There are simply too many wines out there that are far, far better than this that I have drunk or would like to try than to waste the time and money on this bottle/ vintage again. Incidentally, tasted nothing like the well-thought of 2008 Beaux Freres, Beaux Freres Vineyard.

This is fine. Nothing special, a bit thin. Drink up. I gave this the same score I gave it the last time when I tasted it 3 years ago.
