Very dark in the glass with a thin meniscus. Sweet dark plum on the nose. Sweet fruit at first in the mouth, then minerality and some residual tannins emerge on the finish. Enjoyable, but a touch heavy.

This is just a magical liquid. Winemaker Brown has made this quite the juice. It's in the middle of the drinking window and will probably be best in a year or two. BUT it is the bomb NOW.

Very, very pretty. Black currant and violets combine in a clean, feminine, no-funk style that captures all of Syrah's more elegant aspects. Very integrated from bottle age, and drinking perfectly now.

Co-fermented with 4% Viognier, Waters 2012 Loess Syrah is crafted from fruit sourced from Leonetti Cellars estate vineyard. Earth, Italian plum, and blackberry reduction weave through seductive notes of brûléed turbinado sugar, earth, and charcuterie. It's a sumptuous, well structured wine, framed in moderate toast with enough acidic lift to maintain balance. A meandering, lengthy finish completes this stunning portrait of Walla Walla Valley Syrah. Sample
