Finally I hit a bottle of this that is not flawed. At Wimborne. Drank over 1.5 hours. Drank in large Riedel stemless (think it was a Malbec glass). Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Small amount of sediment at end of bottle. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, red cherries, red plum, licorice, stony minerality with more air. Slight brett hints. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%)silky textured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red cherries, red plum, licorice, earth, black cherries and stony minerality with air. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Nice drinking already. And good bottles should continue to develop nicely over the next 3 years.

Something quite off on the nose. Low level of TCA? On the palate seems quite prematurely aged also. Something wrong somehow. I still have 1 bottle of this in my cellar. Wish me luck.

The bouquet presented dark, intense red fruits, which were rich and concentrated, along with hints of cedar, spice and forest floor. On the palate, I found soft, silky textures, with good persistence, showing hints of tart cherry and sweet herbs. It was ripe, yet focused, and finished remarkably fresh for the vintage as notes of strawberry, flowers and sweet herbs lingered.
