Nose shows sour cherries and a bit of smoky notes. Still dominated by acidity, not yet fully balanced. Started to open up after an hour in the decanter. Wait 1-2 years or give it a good 2 hours decant

A first taste of Swiss wines (Bern, Switzerland): A glowing, beautiful robe, just gorgeous to look at. Higher pitched with lacquer and teak, and this also really starts to pop out of the glass. What a great palate, utterly enveloping, pure silk, seamless, focused, and quite driven. Despite the silkiness, there is a tight, dark core to this wine, mouthwatering, with really dominant acidity. Some tannins sneaking in at the end. My #1 wine of the flight.

An introduction to Swiss wines (Our place, Bern, Switzerland): Tasted blind against other 3 Swiss PN and followed over two days. Medium-light ruby, clear. Fresh fruit, some aromatic herbs, some oak, but well judged. Elegant and precise. As it sits in the glass at times it gets spicy, tobacco, nutmeg, but these dissipate as soon as one swirls a bit. Fresh, composed, balanced. At times you wished it was livelier, but then you have to admire its poise. Fine-grained tannins. On day 2 they were just a bit drying, starting from the mid-palate - especially when compared against the vom Pfaffen/Calander. When we tasted blind this was the favorite of most of the tasters (not mine).

This time the ripe fruit was more evident, a bit too much for my taste, but well made and drinks well. Just a bit static and lacking personality.
