Dark gold colour. Signs of oxidation, but still very much alive. Powerful but rather one-dimensional. Apricots and honeysuckle. Not the greatest, but perfectly enjoyable.

Bottle brought to the Royale Brasserie from the personal cellar of Dean Lycas. Bright disc with medium yellow-gold robe and yellow rim. The nose is clean and develops impressively over one hour. A wonderful bouquet of perfume/floral tones is the dominant theme, with honeysuckle, lavender and an ultimate (after one hour) light vanilla cream. This is a full-bodied burgundy with smooth, mouth-filling texture and similar complex flavors as the nose. The finish is long and smooth. An excellent companion to shellfish (lobster with butter being the best match). Should further improve but is outstanding now.

(Pernot Batard-Montrachet) This was not that great. Served out of magnum this wine just seemed to lack freshness. Elegant with nice concentration and ripeness . . but it seemed kind of tired. Just OK . . .
