  • Taut and linear. Attractive kerosene nose starting to show. Very nice.

  • Drank at home. Screw-cap. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, lemon colour. Thin legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with hint of petroleum, white flowers, slate and stones minerality. Developing.
On the palate, bone dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium+ flaour intensity, with flavours of sine-tingling electric lime, sour citrus lemon, green pear, licking slate and stones minerality, salinity. Piercing medium+ finish. Gets sweeter with more air and when colder.
Very good quality. Still so much freshness and I feel could last more years if intending for it to develop more aged character.

  • Now this is interesting.

An initial hit of lime cordial on the nose before melding into some nice toasty notes with a touch of riper white fruits. Nice balance between freshness, age and ripeness.

On the palate lime cordial is the initial impression lifted on a wave of acidify. But then as the wine washes over the rest of the mouth it broadens and deepens with a textual plumpness, lanolin and wet wool, toasty creaminess spiked with lime. Riper white fruits.

While I had the bottle in front of me, without it tasting blind I would have been tempted to go aged Aussie Semillon. What gives it away as a richer style of Aussie Riesling is the linear lime acidity and sweetness on the back palate.

A lovely example of how inexpensive but quality Aussie Riesling really shines after a few years in bottle.

  • Fresh scent of jasmine, green tea, pistachio, pear, citrusy lime & a lemongrass tail.
This Riesling is like a Sauvignon blanc, with biting acid ending; easy pairing with food.

9 years old, nicely aged and drinking pleasingly well.

  • Riesling Refresher 2015: Floral, lime, spice and peaches. Good precision, with the fruit in the background but nicely poised and making sure the wine isn't all acid. Good length. Will develop well.
