  • Opened for about one hour inside the fridge then double decanted for 15 minutes.

The wine is full body, dark ruby, high acidity and still tannic. The nose is phenomenal. And have all the ingredients to go the distant and became a big player. I think it would had benefit from a longer decant, maybe 1-2 hours but I rather hold a bit longer...

  • 90+? It would only warrant this in 2025+. Far too soon to enjoy - give it a minimum of 5 more years, but might need 10+ to soften up. It's tightly wound with hints of black cherries, but the astringent wood prevails throughout. If you have it in your cellar, keep it protected and open down the road. Not worth purchasing given the unknowns.

  • The 91.6 CT average is perhaps a bit low on this one. Thought it was a 94 without really even thinking about it. This wine was "bottle decanted" for about 20 minutes. Poured with a very thick, black inky and spicy blackberry perfume into the glass with purple edges. The nose is ripe "tangy" blackberry. The entry is blackberry cassis with a sweet, chalky and chewy fruit. Nice fine-grained texture classic of what I get with Stag's. A little darker in the middle, and finishes with a toasted oak and black pepper, with a silty blackberry finish! Still VERY young. I really can't even imagine drinking a younger vintage of this wine right now IMO, as I feel that I would be missing quite a bit, even if decanted for hours.

  • Seductive dark garnet color with beautiful legs and meniscus. Fragrent nose, fruit, dark berries, dark tart black cherries, hints of sweet anise, and tannic. A good wine that is best enjoyed with food (beef) and not a pop a and pour. This one needs a long dscant. 90.6 Points

  • Felt that I had enough from this one after a 30 minute decant to rate. This wine is a bit of a sleeper. First one I saw when opening up the wine fridge when pizza was starting to cook. Uncorked and poured a deep violet into the glass. The nose was immediately dark berry out of the glass, some darker floral scents, with a little metallic character....DEEP nose on this one. On the palate is a classic Stag's wine - full and chewy without being flabby right up front, yet has a body that is leaner than what your brain tells you. Earthy backbone, dark fruit and a little cassis up front, that gave way to an earthy punch and minerality coming more in the middle. The finish was stiff tannin, therefore I still think that this one needs some time to integrate. The good thing about this one was -- even though it was a full bodied wine for SURE -- it drank very much like a medium bodied wine in the fact that it didn't overload you. Seems like sulfite level is a little lower here as well. This one still has a LOT of life left - - through 2025 if cellared correctly. Am working on purchasing another couple of this to hold!
