Thin in appearance, purple in color. The nose shows cedar and light plums. Light dark cherries come out with air. There is a strong acidity here. Dark cherry fruit. At $10, there is a good value here for casual drinking. Certainly enjoyable now with a couple of years left at most though.

A good nose with dark fruit and fairly robust flavour. Agree with comments about the lingering acidity. Enjoyable Spanish wine especially for the price.

One of a number I picked up in a somewhat random spree at a Binnys on a discount weekend. I think, as others have noted, a fairly decent if unexceptional number with a moderate amount of dark fruit, medium acidity, a bit of grip. What can I really argue for at the price after all. You can spend far more for less in some varietals and countries.

Very silky, rich, and with pronounced black fruit, but the structure is somewhat lacking. Low-medium fine tannin, medium acid, noticeable glycerin. Feels very engineered. Boring.

I would agree with many of the positive comments on this wine, but I would disagree that it is tannin that makes this wine so assertive - it is the almost electrifying acidity on the long finish that makes this wine so powerful; this also contributes to the impression of spiciness. This bottle would light up a spicy entrée from northern Italy better than any Barbera!
