Jean-Pierre Reniard Burgundy Wine Seminar (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant): Tasted in Riedel white glass. Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of pebbly stones minerality, interesting cheddar cheese, citrus lemon, light honey, salty brine. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of salty stones minerality, brine, salted cheese, citrus lemon, honey. Long finish. Very good quality. I like it quite a lot more than my score would suggest. Interesting elements. Can still age over the next 3-4 years for a bit more complexity, though it is already quite open and ready now. Mainly Chardonnay with a touch of Pinot Gris.

Tasted in double-blind setting at friend's house. Buttery notes, smoke, ripe yellow fruits, peach, cold steel, mint and minerality. It has a creamy mouthfeel but very good freshness, too. Medium-full bodied, pretty rich, especially for the cooler vintage, beautiful balance and very nice medium-high acidity that is almost hidden under the wealth of fruit. Very good length. A very interesting white NSG that combines white Burgundy elegance with beautiful freshness.

Vosne 1er Cru Dinner (Nikki's): An interesting NSG white from de L'Arlot's monopole. The nose was very minerally, lots of chalk and slate aromas underlying some white fruited scents. I thought it was nicely balanced and proportioned on the palate, still quite primary and one-dimensional, but with pleasant notes of sweet, white fruit laced with fresh lemony notes, and then just that little trace of mineral at the end. Nothing outstanding, but this was a very decent white Burg coming from unusual terroir.

robe - pale straw, very youthful, a little light for chardonnay nose - very interesting with apples, pears, some stone and a little hint of mushroom palate - this has body, almost more than the rouge of the same parcel. this is full bodied with nice length and some acidity for the ride. notes of pear, almost cooked, baked apple and some mineral. it would be nice to revisit this in 3 to 5 years. if it sheds some baby fat, it could be a nice bottle to boot. attention, this is built for comfort rather than speed. drink now to 2020 note - this is considered the domaine's top parcel in NSG. it is a monopole and is planted with 50% pinot and 50% chardonnay .

Domaine de l'arlot masterclass with Geraldine Godot (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): medium minus intensity aromas - this is more muted than the 2015, lightweight apricot over orange citrus, butter. In the mouth it's juicy, softer than the 2015 from a mouthfeel perspective, a little more subdued. Hmm.
