  High neck level.
  Well settled from standing upright for a month.
  Opened without decanting. Cork in excellent condition.
  It needed about 30 minutes to open up in the glass. Strong earthy, spicy, cedar, leather aromas. Not surprisingly, the fruit components have evolved. The hue is excellent for a wine of this age. The is still a tannic presence, perhaps enhanced by the fruit drying up and relatively high acidity.
  The texture is fairly lean in an elegant and not unpleasant way. The volcanic soil character is quite intense. Great ageworthy wine. probably 3-5 years past its peak.
