Bottle needed 2 hours to fully opened. Initial nose was quite interesting with red fruit of cherries, strawberries, raspberry jam, forrest and freshly tilled earth with notes of Chinese five spice and Sichuan peppercorns. After few hours additional notes of tobacco and truffles appeared. Palate is quite complex with red and some black fruits, spicy, with penetrating acidity and lively tannins. Finish is quite long and peppery. This will only get better with additional cellaring for another 5 years. Potential 95-96 pts.

{Bought on release, first bottle, perfect fill} Long-distance runner. Decanted and tasted over 3 hours. Initial cranberry fruit, typical for Jadot. Soon thereafter good Gevrey-Chambertin earth, sexy, gamey wine, steadily improved over 3 hours. At 2 hours much more fruit to the mix. 92 for drinking now, add one for promise, could be 94+ with more development. Yes, could be mistaken for a Grand Cru, will look for mid-palate depth development in a couple of years. Super. Not criminal to open now in a carafe but if you only have a few bottles, wait.

Beautiful ruby purple in the glass with just the slightest hint of brick. Looks very healthy; in fact it positively shimmers. Nose is muted at first but some vigorous swirling reveals dark berry fruits, black cherries, Asian spices and a hint of dusty wardrobe.
Very smooth and glossy on the palate with great concentration of ripe but very pure black cherry fruit, embers and integrated spicy oak. This is smooth and polished and I can see why Jancis gave this a massive 19/20 - it just oozes class.
Everything here is headed in the right direction but I think this needs another five years. By no means a wasted bottle but there are surely greater things to come. A real showcase for CSJ.

Fine wine. Medium ruby with a nice cherry floral bouquet. Fine presence in the mouth, but nothing terribly special. 5-12-16-8: 91/100.
